Vino Dessera Winery is located in Kırklareli province in Thrace Region of Turkey. Yetkin Dönmez started to purchase the land years ago and planted walnuts in 2001. Over the next several years the land was replanted with grape vines. The vineyard now has the following grape varietals, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Barbare D’Asti, Cabernet Franc, Muscat Alexandria, Sangiovese, Syrah, and Petit Verdot. Indigenous Turkish varieties of Kalecik Karası and Öküzgözü are also produced in VinoDessera.
The winery was built in 2004 as family-owned and is still operated by Doğan Dönmez. Doğan who left the corporate life, together with his family members expanded the winery and vineyards. The winery and vineyards are located approximately 95 kilometers from the Black Sea Coast. Due to its location, it benefits greatly from cool maritime influences. The vineyards are sustainably farmed and despite its challenges, the philosophy of the winery is sustainable farming and ecological balance. The winery uses the most modern winemaking technology, with American and French oak barrels in wine-making process to provide the award-winning characteristics. VinoDessera vinery has worked with Xavier Vignon since 2013. The winery offers a series of labels, Arra Sarranda, Vino Dessera, and VD.
